A friend, Kathy Jang, fellow student with Margaret on the Health Planning Course at UBC, had a job offer from Yellowknife, a gold mining town in the far north. A group of us gathered at the airport to wish her well as the sun, red from smog, was setting. How she felt about it is unknown to me, but as I felt it, the job would take her away from Vancouver and fellow students with whom she had happy times during studies.
The darkness tinged red is in the background. Inferred in that is how lonely she might be feeling, being banished from where she might prefer to be.
