I think of the vibrations coming from the violin I bought as a thirteen year old child with the $13 dollars I had made from selling the fish I had caught that summer. The violin was bought through the T.Eaton Co. mail order catalogue. It came to Quathiaski Cove, Quadra Island, our mailing address. It came on the Cheloson belonging to the Union Steamship Company. The Quadra Island stop linked us to Vancouver.
Included with the violin of Stradivarius style, was the case, a cube of resin, a velvet cloth for covering the violin, the violin stringed and ready to tune up and play. It may have been subsidized!
I did the painting for my mother. She didn’t like it. I did. That is why I include it here.
