In a dream, Ziz sees a party for the children. (A character in Between Six Boards and the Mountain). I was inspired to paint the picture by a child’s drawing of a group of children in a frolic. I was given the drawing by proud grandparents. The children of her drawing are duplicated and repeated here to build up a volume for the picture. Ziz, in white, floats over the scene, dark blue, to make the contrast more potent. A band of green, from left to right defines the light blue river. Below, the children run across the field of dark green with lighter green crossing lines defining hillocks. A thin strand of grey on one side of the river, sand, and the dark strand on the other side, gives depth to the different shores.
